Moving Forward

I'm reading MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING by Victor Frankl. This is easily one of the most profound, life-changing books I've ever read. And I'm not even finished with it!!! I've been thinking a lot about life and the role that the Gospel of Jesus Christ plays in my life and in the lives of all of us. I've had a really difficult time accepting
my weaknesses and learning to deal with them. Today I went out and enjoyed the beautiful sunny weather and prepared my garden by churning up the soil and then I sat in the sun to read this book. This is what I read:
"Ultimately, man should not ask the meaning of his life, but rather he must recognize that it is HE who is asked. In a word, each man is questioned by life; and he can only answer to life by ANSWERING FOR his own life; to life he can only respond by being responsible."
Life is asking me what my purpose is. Christ is asking me what my purpose is. How do I respond? I be responsible. I accept my faults, and rather than dwelling on them, I move on. Every metaphor, allegory, analogy in the scripture denotes the idea of forward movement rather than dwelling on the past. I've realized it's not about where we've been or what we've done, but rather where we are going and what we are going to do when we get there. The way is narrow but we get to choose which way we go! If we take a wrong turn, we don't go backwards, we simple re-align our course to the right path. We deal with our current situation rather than dwelling on the past. We move forward.
